Journal of Oncology Practice Launches Initiative to Mentor New Reviewers

Oct 14, 2015

To provide a support and feedback system for new reviewers, the Journal of Oncology Practice (JOP) has launched a mentorship program in which seasoned reviewers will mentor and support a fellow or junior colleague during the peer-review process.

The mentors will provide valuable reviewing strategies and will critique the completed review. Once the mentorees submit their reviews, JOP editors will provide feedback to further enhance the experience. Following the mentorship period, JOP will invite mentorees who participated in this program to join the reviewer pool.

JOP believes this hands-on experience will be beneficial for early-career professionals, helping them to learn more about the review process and giving them a chance to become involved in the publishing process.

If you or your colleagues are interested in this mentoring program, or if you have questions, please contact the JOP editorial office at jopcontact@asco.org.
