I hope you are excited about coming to Chicago for the 2013 Annual Meeting. It is my first year as the Editor of the Educational Book, and I hope all of you will be pleased by my and Associate Editor Nathan Pennell's efforts to make the Educational Book a more prominent, better-integrated, and less-weighty edition. The print version of the Educational Book is a labor of love each year, and this one was no exception. With the combined help of President Swain and Antoinette Tan as this year's program chairperson, we culled the amazing content for those that were most representative of the 2013 theme of Building Bridges to Conquer Cancer. However, do not feel limited by what is in print. All manuscripts will be available electronically, associated with the related session, and ready for download. In addition, for the first time, all manuscripts will be indexed in PubMed and available for all to benefit from, during the Annual Meeting and for years after!
This is just a simple note to highlight the Educational Book and for me, an opportunity to thank all the expert faculty who contributed to the book, Nate, the Integrated Media & Technology Director, Lisa Greaves (@LGG1), and our ever so organized and talented Integrated Publishing Editor, Lauren Burke, for their hard work.
And if you are at ASCO and see a rather short man looking relatively haggard but well dressed walking among the crowd with an "Editor" badge on (or not, as the case may be) please stop me and say hi. I'm interested in your thoughts on the Educational Book and your ideas on where to go next.
See you in Chicago,
