By Suzanne George, MD
On behalf of the Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee, I encourage you to submit an abstract to the ASCO Annual Meeting. Spanning all oncology disciplines, professions, and interests, this is the premier forum for presenting the most significant and timely scientific discoveries in oncology.
Transform the future of cancer care around the world and take advantage of more than 2,000 presentation opportunities available at this highly visible scientific meeting.
All types of oncology-related research are eligible for submission. Abstracts should address scientific questions, detail clinical observations, and/or contain primary scientific data. You can submit up to two regular abstracts and an unlimited number of Trials in Progress abstracts as the first author. There is also the option for late-breaking submissions, with a shell submission by February 12 and final data due March 14.
Abstracts that were previously presented at an ASCO-cosponsored symposium are eligible for re-submission and presentation at the Annual Meeting with updated data, results, and analysis.
For more detailed information on submitting an abstract, visit ASCO’s website:
- Abstract Submission Categories
- Abstract Submission and Embargo Policies
- Abstract Submission Guidelines
I encourage all authors to save time and ensure accuracy of their disclosures by using ASCO’s COI disclosure management system.
Please note: All abstracts must be submitted or sponsored by an ASCO member. If you are not a member, consider joining to submit and sponsor your submission. Learn more.
Join me and your colleagues from around the world to discuss the latest advances in oncology-related research. I look forward to reviewing your abstract and seeing you in Chicago – and don’t forget to submit your abstract by February 12.
Dr. George is chair of the 2019 ASCO Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee and the director of clinical research for the Center for Sarcoma and Bone Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
