Each year, ASCO calls upon its members to vote for the future leaders of our Society. Voting is now open! We have 11 phenomenal candidates on the ballot, and voting will close on December 6, 2022.
The Nominating Committee is very pleased to nominate Robin Zon, MD, FACP, FASCO, for the role of president-elect. Dr. Zon currently practices as physician emeritus at Michiana Hematology Oncology in Mishawaka, IN. She formerly served as medical director of Oncology Research at Memorial Hospital and NCI CCOP associate and then principal investigator until 2013 for the Northern Indiana Cancer Research Consortium, the only NCI-designated Community Cancer Oncology Program in the state of Indiana. Dr. Zon is an active volunteer for ASCO. She was recently awarded ASCO’s Advocate of the Year for her significant advocacy work on behalf of individuals living with cancer and their cancer care teams and has also received ASCO’s Distinguished Achievement Award. She is a past chair of ASCO’s Government Relations Committee and a leader of the society’s advocacy efforts. Dr. Zon served on the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2013 and has served ASCO in many other capacities. You will find more information about Dr. Zon on the ASCO Election webpage.
The other 10 candidates are running for open positions on the Board of Directors and Nominating Committee. Please visit the ASCO Election webpage for more information about each of them, including their personal statements that describe their interest in playing a role in ASCO leadership.
Most importantly, we need your vote. Your voice will help to shape the future of ASCO in patient care, training, education, policy, and research. We are looking forward to receiving your votes in this year’s election.
