Assess Your Knowledge With ASCO eLearning’s Online Education Resources

Jan 13, 2021

ASCO eLearning is offering new and updated online resources for physicians, nurses, and advanced practitioners. With ASCO’s new Quiz Builder and an updated edition of ASCO-SEP, learners are able to generate their own self-assessments and stay up-to-date on new drugs and changes in patient care. As the year ahead presents many unforeseen challenges, ASCO eLearning continues to provide easy-to-access resources for the oncology community.

ASCO Quiz Builder for Self-Evaluation: Create Quizzes on Any Oncology Topic Using New Extensive Question Bank

The ASCO Quiz Builder is a large bank of new self-assessment questions that learners can use to generate personalized quizzes on topics of interest and need. A learner can select topics such as lung or breast cancer, the number of questions, and whether they want new questions or to revisit previously attempted questions. Each question has a patient scenario, answer rationale, and references.

This activity covers a variety of topics, including hematologic malignancies, thoracic cancers, breast cancers, genitourinary cancers, gynecologic cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, head/neck/thyroid cancers, central nervous system tumors, skin cancers, sarcomas, palliative care, symptom management, and anticancer therapeutics.

The Quiz Builder will live on the ASCO eLearning website; learners who complete quizzes can earn MOC points and CE credit. It will be available for use on desktops, tablets, and smartphones through a web browser.

ASCO-SEP: Stay Current With Interactive Online Version, Mobile App

The ASCO Medical Oncology Self-Evaluation Program (ASCO-SEP) is a comprehensive resource designed to help providers assess their level of knowledge in the various areas of oncology and provide a current understanding of cancer, its treatment, and the supportive care needed to optimize quality of life for people with cancer. This resource will continue be updated every 6 months to bring you the newest information in oncology care.

“ASCO-SEP’s semi-annual updates have been developed to help keep learners current with the rapidly evolving pace of both cancer diagnostics and therapeutics,” said ASCO-SEP editor in chief Benjamin Levy, MD.

For the first time, the latest version of ASCO-SEP is available in an interactive online version and mobile app. The new online version and app allow learners to bookmark content and add notes. ASCO-SEP also now includes links to additional content and resources such as ASCO eLearning courses, podcasts, guidelines, and more.

With the transition to a digital product, learners will find it easier to receive updates in a timely manner. ASCO-SEP associate editor Elie G. Dib, MD, FACP, said that this updated resource will serve as a “trusted website to catch up on new content, curated by experts in the field.”

New drug approvals, relevant clinical trials, and important changes to patient care are highlighted at the start of each chapter. Updated figures, treatment algorithms, and links to additional content will also be available to aid and support learners. In addition, several authors will be highlighting COVID-19 considerations for their cancer area.
