Yuan Yuan, MD, PhD, joined Cedars-Sinai Cancer Medical Center as the director of Breast Oncology. 

 

The Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) named Don S. Dizon, MD, FACP, FASCO, its new vice chair for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), and Professional Integrity.  

 

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) chose Augusto Ochoa, MD, as the 2022 recipient of the Harry Hynes Award for Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Trials and Community Research. 

 

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) announced the election of new members to its executive committee. Joseph Mikhael, MD, Med, will serve a 4-year term as treasurer, and Christopher R. Flowers, MD, MSc, FASCO, will serve a 4-year term as councillor. 

 

The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) honored two researchers for their significant contributions to breast cancer research at the 2022 SABCS. Charles M. Perou, PhD, was the recipient of the 2022 AACR Distinguished Lectureship in Breast Cancer Research, and Adetunji T. Toriola, MD, PhD, was the recipient of the 2022 AACR Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer Research.
