The ASCO Research Community Forum serves as a go-to resource for all members of the oncology research community, including physician investigators, research staff, and those involved in community- and academic-based research programs. Members of the ASCO Research Community Forum can connect and collaborate with research colleagues; share and learn best practices for conducting and managing clinical research by accessing online resources and attending webinars; and serve on ASCO-convened task forces and working groups to help develop solutions to address barriers to clinical trial participation and accrual.

Members of the oncology research community can engage and network online in the Research Community Forum group on the ASCO myConnection platform. Find discussion boards, an online resource library, and other features at no cost. An ASCO.org account is required to access the forum, which is free and easy to create. Once logged in to myconnection.asco.org, look for the Research Community Forum group.

The ASCO Research Community Forum also offers materials on the ASCO website. Visit here to find a variety resources on facilitating clinical trials, including:
  • Toolkits offering helpful resources, templates, and forms to help research sites overcome barriers to conducting and managing clinical trials.
  • A free online library of resources organized by key topic areas related to conducting and managing clinical trials, including basics for starting a research program, program administration, budget management, study start-up, management of trials and participants, data management, and quality assessment.
  • At-a-glance summaries offering key tips, considerations, and best practices on topics related to conducting and managing clinical trials.
  • The ASCO Research Program Quality Assessment Tool, designed to help research sites establish or enhance their internal quality assessment program and exceed the minimum standards of conducting clinical research.
  • The ASCO Adverse Events Reporting Decision Aid, intended to assist physician investigators and research staff in determining whether an adverse event can be attributed to the investigational drug and whether it should be reported to the sponsor as a serious adverse event.
Clinical cancer research drives the field forward and offers hope to everyone affected by cancer. The ASCO Research Community Forum continuously works to identify ideas for future initiatives that will provide solutions to challenges faced by research sites and enable new discoveries in cancer care. Email the Research Community Forum to share suggestions or ask questions.
