Passport Program. The Foundation is excited to continue its Passport to the World of Oncology Program this year. Attendees who collect a stamp from each of the 18 participating exhibitors in the Oncology Professionals Hall will receive a gift (while supplies last; one per person) and be eligible to win one of the following prizes:
  • Complimentary registration to the 2013 Annual Meeting, hotel accommodations for five nights at a downtown Chicago hotel, and one year of unlimited access to Virtual Meeting for all ASCO symposia and ASCO University® online learning products (two winners)
  • Complimentary registration to the 2013 Annual Meeting and one year of unlimited access to Virtual Meeting from all ASCO symposia and ASCO University® online learning products (eight winners)
Attendees must submit a completed passport booklet at the Passport Booth, located at the Oncology Professionals Hall entrance, to be eligible to win. Winners will be announced and notified following the 2012 Annual Meeting.

Grants and Awards Reception. The Foundation will host an awards ceremony and networking reception on Saturday, June 2, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Hyatt McCormick Place Regency Ballroom. All past and current recipients of Conquer Cancer Foundation grants and awards will be invited for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to honor the 2012 recipients and meet supporters of the Foundation, members of the Grants Selection Committee and review subcommittees, ASCO leadership, and fellow grant and award recipients. Guests will receive additional information about the reception in March.

Grant Writing Workshop. The Foundation is organizing a Grant Writing Workshop Extended Education Session on Friday, June 1, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with Charles Rudin, MD, and Eric Small, MD, serving as Co-Chairs. Presentations will cover choosing a mentor and obtaining letters of support, as well as developing a hypothesis and stating aims; provide an overview of the Conquer Cancer Foundation grants program; and offer tips for grant writing in the new NIH format. There will also be a mock study session in which presenters will review, critique, and score a grant application, similar to the process used in a review meeting or study section. The session will conclude with small group discussions where participants can ask questions of the presenters and other seasoned reviewers. The session is unticketed and open to all attendees.
