As you plan your trip to the 2019 ASCO Annual Meeting, we know it’s not just about deciding which sessions to attend or which hotel to stay at. Below are some childcare options to consider should you choose to bring your family with you to Chicago. In addition, give your hotel a call after making a reservation to see if they have additional suggestions.
New This Year: Onsite Childcare at McCormick Place
For the first time, ASCO will provide professional onsite childcare service (through KiddieCorp) during the Annual Meeting. Available Friday, May 31, through Tuesday, June 4, the program is designed for children 6 months to 12 years old and will include age-appropriate activities such as group games, arts and crafts, story time, and more. ASCO subsidizes the cost of this service, which is $10 per hour per child, with a minimum of 2 consecutive hours. The fee includes meals, snacks, water, and activities.
While it will be possible to register for childcare onsite, space is limited and service is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis; ASCO highly recommends registering in advance. Register your child today.
ASCO has also compiled resources and contact information for other childcare options in Chicago.
Nursing Mothers’ Rooms
Inside Room N227a (North Building, Level 2), eight private rooms are available for use by nursing mothers. The rooms are open for use from Friday, May 31, through Tuesday, June 4. Each room will be equipped with a chair, table, power outlet, and refrigerator. Additionally, McCormick Place has installed two new Mamava stations that nursing mothers can use.
