Pulitzer Prize Winner Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee to Deliver Guest Lecture at 2017 ASCO Annual Meeting

Siddhartha Mukherjee, MD, DPhil, recipient of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction for The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, will be the guest speaker at the Opening Session of the 2017 ASCO Annual Meeting. Dr. Mukherjee is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University and a cancer physician and researcher. He is the author of The Laws of Medicine and has published articles in NatureThe New England Journal of Medicine, The New York Times, and Cell. His latest book is The Gene: An Intimate History.

The Opening Session will also include the Presidential Address by 2016-2017 ASCO President Daniel F. Hayes, MD, FACP, FASCO, the presentation of the ASCO Humanitarian Award and David A. Karnofsky Memorial Award and Lecture, and recognition of this year's Fellows of ASCO (FASCO) honorees. The Opening Session begins at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 3, in Hall B1 of McCormick Place.
