ASCO Connection is excited to share its new special edition, ASCO Connection: Cancer Policy. This supplemental issue provides the latest information and analysis related to cancer policy news and updates on ASCO’s ongoing advocacy efforts. The issue serves as a “year in review” of ASCO’s legislative activities at both the federal and state levels, and covers of several of ASCO's key policy and quality improvement initiatives.

“[We] participate in the policymaking process to fully represent the scope of physician issues, to ensure practices are able to thrive, to represent our patients, and to ensure a robust research infrastructure. Policymakers are busy, juggling many different issues and demands, and need our expertise to understand the implications of the policies they are considering,” shared ASCO President Bruce Johnson, MD, FASCO, in the issue.

The issue highlights the many facets of policy and advocacy in which the Society participates to represent the needs of the oncology workforce and patients with cancer. The supplement includes federal and state legislative updates, a cover story on ASCO’s Health Policy Fellowship, MACRA updates, stories on how you can get involved in ASCO’s state and federal advocacy, and much more.
