Update, March 9, 2020: Find additional resources on ASCO.org, which will be updated regularly as the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves.
ASCO advises oncologists to use the best available evidence in caring for patients who may be exposed to or infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), recognizing that evidence is both limited and evolving.
General resources and information are available at:
- Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)
- New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM)
- U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA; Drug Shortage Information)
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
We also urge all providers to look for additional guidance on care challenges from their local health authorities and institutions. ASCO consistently monitors cancer drug shortages, and we encourage patients and providers to refer to the FDA for the latest guidance and updates. As the global situation around coronavirus changes rapidly, ASCO is closely monitoring for any potential impact to patient care and will provide updates if needed.
