ASCO Welcomes 2019-2020 Leadership Development Program Participants

Jul 23, 2019

ASCO is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Leadership Development Program Participants.

The ASCO Leadership Development Program (LDP), which began in 2009, is a year-long program designed to train future leaders in oncology by supporting their development as they learn valuable leadership skills.

The LDP provides oncologists with lifelong skills by providing training by an executive coach, networking opportunities with their colleagues, and mentorship from ASCO leaders. In addition, participants receive formal media training, advocacy training and experience on Capitol Hill, and a day-long introduction to drug and device development and approval at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Participants also learn about the ASCO’s role in developing the future of cancer care. The skills participants acquire can accelerate their leadership success locally, nationally, and internationally, as well as within ASCO and other professional organizations.
