Peter W.T. Pisters, MD, MHCM, has been selected as sole finalist for the position of president at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Kunle Odunsi, MD, PhD, FRCO, FACOG, has been named to National Institute of Health Immunology Grant Review Board.

Declan Walsh, MD, has been appointed chair of the Department of Supportive Oncology at Levine Cancer Institute, Carolinas HealthCare System.

Daniel G. Haller, MD, FASCO, and Henry T. Lynch, MD, MS, FACP, FAACR, were recognized as gastrointestinal cancer luminaries by the Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Nagi S. El Saghir, MD, FACP, was named head of the Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.

Isaac Yi Kim, MD, PhD, MBA, has been awarded a Prostate Cancer Research Program Idea Development Award for Established Investigators from the United States Department of Defense Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.

Louis M. Weiner, MD, was named director of the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute.

Michael A. Caligiuri, MD, has been appointed president and physician-in-chief of City of Hope National Medical Center.

Eric P. Winer, MD, FASCO, has been named Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s senior vice president for medical affairs.

James R. Downing, MD, was honored with the American Society of Hematology’s 2017 E. Donnall Thomas Lecture and Prize.

Arti Hurria, MD, FASCO, was awarded the Paul Calabresi Award by The International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG).

Lodovico Balducci, MD, received the SIOG Lifetime Achievement Award.

Barbara McAneny, MD, FASCO, MACP, was honored with the Annual Achievement Award of the Association of Community Cancer Centers.

David Gaffney, MD, PhD, was named the senior director for Clinical Research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.

Stephanie Lee, MD, MPH, has been elected vice president of the American Society of Hematology, and Joseph Mikhael, MD, was appointed to a 4-year term as a councillor. 

Edward E. Partridge, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Guideway Care.

Angela M. Stover, PhD, was presented with the inaugural Michael S. O’Malley Alumni Award for Publication Excellence in Cancer Population Sciences.
