Nagi S. El Saghir, MD, FASCO, FACP

Nagi S. El Saghir, MD, FACP, FASCO, is a professor and head of the Hematology/Oncology Division at the American University of Beirut, and director of the Breast Center of Excellence at the Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, in Beirut, Lebanon. He is the founding president of the Lebanese Society of Medical Oncology (LSMO), the Lebanese Breast Cancer Foundation (LBCF), and Best of ASCO Lebanon. He has served on several committees within the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and co-authored International Consensus Guidelines for Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC Guidelines) and Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI) Guidelines. An ASCO member since 1984, Dr. El Saghir is a member of the Journal of Global Oncology editorial board, past chair of the ASCO International Affairs Committee, and co-chair of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee's Guidelines Advisory Group for Resource Stratification, as well as a past member of Global Oncology Leadership Task Force and Global Curriculum Committee, among other volunteer roles.
