Anne Katz, PhD, RN, FAAN, a certified sexuality counselor at CancerCare Manitoba and nurse counselor at the Manitoba Prostate Centre, counsels patients with a history of cancer who are experiencing sexual and relationship challenges. She previously served editor of the Oncology Nursing Forum research journal and is a member of the ASCO Meeting & Member Publications Editorial Board. It is important to recognize that some of our patients lead chaotic lives. We need to be careful of judging them and labeling them as non-compliant. They are usually just trying their best under difficult or even impossible situations.
