ASCO is saddened by the death of oncology luminary and past Board of Directors member Nicholas J. Vogelzang, MD, FACP, FASCO, on September 20, 2022, at the age of 72.  
ASCO is observing World Cancer Research Day on September 24, 2022, to raise awareness about the importance of cancer research and how learning more about cancer causes, risk reduction, and early detection are crucial to helping control the disease.
