By keeping up to date on the latest blog posts, magazine articles, member comments and group discussions, you can stay connected with oncology professionals across the globe. Recognizing that experiences in medicine do not occur in silos, ASCO Connection allows oncology professionals to share a wide range of perspectives, offering everything from deeply meaningful patient stories to testimonials about struggles with the health care delivery system and anxiety surrounding potential uncertainties related to cancer diagnoses.

Blogs by ASCO Leadership and Experts in the Field

Launched in 2011, ASCO Connection Blogs provide a window into the day-to-day experiences of everyone involved in cancer care, including oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, and nurses, as well as patients, patient advocates, and the general public.

Closer to a conversation than a medical journal article, our contributors reflect on their experiences in the world of cancer care and focus a thoughtful, candid eye on some of the less discussed areas in oncology. In the end, the goal is to build community by engaging practitioners and patients around the human side of medicine.

ASCO Connection Blogs also offer a forum for ASCO leadership and staff to highlight successes and concerns, including new organizational projects and advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill. Our “From the President” space features messages from ASCO’s President on the state of the organization and the state of cancer care.

Typically updated a few times a week, blog topics include:

Latest from the Member Magazine and Exclusive Online Coverage

The site also houses the digital edition of ASCO Connection, the Society’s official member magazine. The bi-monthly publication highlights the membership experience through profiles of and interviews with the world’s leading oncology experts. The primary source of information about ASCO’s programs, the digital magazine focuses on the combined contributions and accomplishments of ASCO and its individual members as they address the concerns of today’s oncology community, including special articles for trainees and early-career oncologists.

Comment on the latest expert debate about a controversial disease management strategy, share your thoughts on exclusive interviews with authors of original reports from ASCO’s journals, remark on how ASCO’s latest advocacy efforts will affect your practice, congratulate members on their recent achievements, and more.

Discussion Groups

In our Discussion section, you can participate in online Tumor Boards led by expert faculty and facilitated by ASCO University®. You also can start your own Discussion on any oncology topic that interests you. Create a thread to continue a conversation that started at an oncology meeting, ask a question about best practices in quality improvement or clinical trial accrual, or ponder the value implications of a recently completed study, among other possibilities.
