ASCO has issued an update to its clinical practice guideline on the use of antiemetic medications to prevent vomiting and nausea, a common side effect of chemotherapy drugs and/or radiation that can hinder or delay treatment and affect quality of life. The new guideline includes recommendations on using these medications based on the types of chemotherapy and radiation treatments and the accompanying risks for vomiting and nausea.
