Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Tumor Board: Erlotinib
Given the flare reaction that occurs, should patients stay on erlotinib indefinitely while receiving chemotherapy? What do you do if your patient has a flare after discontinuing therapy?

Re: Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Tumor Board: Erlotinib
It will be necessary to perform a RCT to determine if keeping Erlotinib + adding chemotherapy after progression of disease will provide any benefit compared to patient that switched directly to chemotherapy alone.
Regarding the second question: If the patient has a flare that is causing significant morbidity or potential mortality I would no doubt at all to put him back on Erlotinib.
