which found that female patients with cancer are less likely than male patients to receive information from their physicians about how chemotherapy might affect their future fertility
. Of 500 patients surveyed, 80% of men were given information about the effect of cancer treatment on their fertility, but only 48% of women reported receiving such information. 68% of men were counseled on options for preserving their fertility, while only 14% of women were counseled on their options.
