ASCO and the American College of Chest Physicians have issued
a joint guideline on the role of low-dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer. The guideline, published in the
Journal of the American Medical Association, addresses CT screening for lung cancer in individuals with a significant smoking history and is based on a systematic review of the evidence conducted by ASCO, ACCP, the American Cancer Society, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, with input from the American Thoracic Society.
