ASCO issued a press release on a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology which found that 5- and 10-year survival increased steadily among children and teenagers treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL; the most common type of pediatric cancer) between 1990 and 2005. Similarly, death rates from ALL fell by 30 to 50 percent during the study period. The study was conducted by the Children's Oncology Group.
